Guacamole or avocado dip :This popular Mexican dip is a guaranteed crowd pleaser while having the added benefit of being healthy and diet-friendly!

This is a tried, tested and tasted recipe for Guacamole. My trips to Boston are never complete at my sister’s home without the Guacomole. Now, avacados are available pretty much at every super market or good vegetable vendor in Karachi.

You will need

1 large ripe avocado. (Make sure the avacado is firm but not hard. It should not be squishy either)

1 large onion

3 large tomatoes

Coriander (lots of it, chopped )

1 large lemon , 2 if they are small.

Salt and pepper


Chop the onions and tomatoes into small pieces.

Add chopped coriander and lemon juice.

Scoop out the avocado flesh with a spoon and add to the chopped veggies.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper and mix everything well together.

Enjoy with nachos, crackers or toasted bread or simply eat it as a salad.

Tip : leave the pit of the avocado in the Guacomole, as it prevents from turning the mixture brown. This is one method of protecting it from the oxygen in the air.
